Sometimes I have to just pause and remember just how lucky I really am. Last Wednesday I posted about how I love my friends and how happy I am that they’re always here for me. This weekend I was reminded of that and then some. It was basically just a love-fest of seeing college friends, hanging out with my family, and spending time with my besties. I don’t know what I did, but karma is feeling pretty good right now.
It all started out Saturday, I went out to beautiful central MA to my friend Sean’s house for a cookout and camping with our college friends and his older sister’s college friends. When I was a freshman, I was “adopted” into the friendship of a group of juniors. For the next two years they became like family to me. Unfortunately, after my sophomore year they all graduated so I was left to fend for myself. It’s always great to get back together with them and pick up where we left off!
Sean’s house is in the middle of nowhere, but it’s beyond beautiful. We played corn hole, volleyball, life-sized beirut, and spent the evening around the campfire. There’s so many wide open fields out there and when you look up, there’s a million stars in the sky. I even saw two shooting stars!
On Sunday, I got a ride back home with a friend of Sean’s sister who lives in the area. As a thank you, I offered to take him to a diner in Lowell for breakfast. When we pulled into the parking lot, my whole family was there but leaving and Jess and Christine had just pulled in for breakfast, too. It was the biggest coincidence! So, Jess and Christine had breakfast with me and my ride and it was just a really good time.
The afternoon and evening were spent at the ballpark with the whole #zacpack at a Spinners game. The Spinners ended up losing big time, but it was still a fun time. It’s always nice to have the whole family together.
Last night Jess, Christine, Colin and me went to our friend Aly’s house for a fire and so we could all meet her boyfriend before they go back to Miami for school this week. It was nice to just sit around, eat s’mores, and catch up with everyone. Easy and relaxing.
What did you do this weekend?
Since it’s Monday, I’m linking up with Sami’s Shenanigans!
